Plan directeur Bridge-Bonaventure

- Tyler RozickiHOUSING: There is a great opportunity to make high performant housing here to the passive house standard. I believe this should be 50% minimum mixed social and affordable housing, low rise buildings, maximum 7-8 stories high. No high rise. High quality building materials, with brick as a priority material. Prioritizing community organizing principles to combat social isolation.
- Diane HannaMost important of all is to make sure Master Plan will accommodate the huge need for social, affordable and family sized housing units, while recognizing need for basic services such as groceries, pharmacy, also a variety of smallerstores, day care or school as required.
- Brian LambertAs a lifelong skier living in Montreal, I believe that the winter season and the opportunities to practice various outdoor activities should be further described in the Master Plan.
To do so, it is better to provide heated refuges, an equipment rental service
according to the seasons and storage rooms for the various organizations, sports clubs and businesses that will enliven the public spaces and of course have larger public green spaces.
- Louise LegaultComme Ski de fond Montréal, je crois que la nordicité devrait être mise de l'avant et que des installations soient prévues pour la pratique du ski de fond et de la marche hivernale.
- Steven HighWe have a housing crisis in this city. This emerged under the auspices of the OCPM. We need to do things differently. More of the same will only make the situation worse. My understanding is that the Bridge-Bonaventure lands are (still) mainly publicly owned. That means these lands should be developed in a socially responsible way -- social housing (not 'affordable housing') should be the clear majority of new units. Why are more condos the default?
Emblematic industrial heritage is little more than cultural appropriation when it is incorporated into housing developments that only the rich can afford.
You need to do better. Goose Village was razed by the city in the 1960s. It should retain its public purpose. - Kathleen GudmundssonAs a resident of Pointe St. Charles and a former community worker in the neighbourhood, I know that the biggest threat to the community here, especially for low-income individuals, is the skyrocketing cost of rent. There is not enough social housing for the people who need it, and so many longtime residents are forced to leave the neighbourhood and, in many cases, the city, due to the lack of affordable housing. The most important service the city can provide is affordable, family-centered housing on a human scale, rather than overpriced condo towers. The services needed are ones in service of the entire community - an affordable grocery store, schools (especially a high school), a clinic, park space for residents to enjoy. Everything else is extra.
This is the city's chance to avoid another Griffintown. Please don't squander it. - Albert HayekI think this area should be supportive of winter sports. As such it should have the facilities and expanded re-naturalized areas to make it welcoming to these kinds of activities.
Let us make the most of our northern clime.
Merci,
Deanne Delaney
In my opinion, the plan should have as much natural green space as possible to encourage physical activities throughout the year.
In particular, we have to make outdoor winter activities as inviting as possible for people of all ages, newcomers and tourists to Montreal if we want them to appreciate winter in Montreal.
For this reason, the plan must have facilities such as chalets or welcome centres for citizens to use when doing winter sports like cross country skiing, snow shoeing and walking. I support Ski de fond Montréal's proposals.
In addition, connection to other naturalized green spaces is crucial for biodiversity in our urban setting so that green corridors are created and connected through the city.
Thank you,
Deanne Delaney
